Corey Ford
CEO & Partner
As CEO & Partner, Corey oversees all aspects of Matter. Prior to
Matter, Corey built Runway, a pre-team, pre-idea incubator for
entrepreneurs at Innovation Endeavors. He also taught design thinking
innovation at the Institute of Design at Stanford University, also known
as the d.school. Corey began his career in public broadcasting managing
the production of 17 films for the PBS/WGBH series FRONTLINE, winning
an Emmy and a duPont-Columbia Gold Baton Award. He earned an MBA at
Stanford and was a Morehead Scholar at UNC-Chapel Hill.
Jake Shapiro
Partner
Jake is founding CEO of PRX, the award-winning public media network
supporting Matter within a portfolio of content, distribution, and
leadership services. Jake is an Ashoka Fellow, former Associate Director
of the Berkman Center for Internet and Society at Harvard, and an
advisor to a variety of media organizations, funders, and Internet
startups.
Jigar Mehta
Director of Operations
Jigar is a digital entrepreneur, documentary filmmaker and journalist. Prior to joining Matter, he co-founded Groupstream, a collaborative storytelling platform. It is a startup that grew out of the acclaimed web native documentary project, 18 Days in Egypt. Mehta was a 2010 John S. Knight Fellow at Stanford University. Before Stanford, Mehta was a reporter and video journalist for The New York Times. Mehta has a Masters in Journalism and Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley.
